The French premiere date for Torchwood - Friday 12 October at 8:50PM on NRJ 12.

CBC TV Canada http://www.cbc.ca/television premieres Torchwood this
Friday October 5 at 9PM all time zones (9:30PM Newfoundland).

BTW, it has largely escaped public notice, but BBC America http://www.bbcamerica.com ran a blink and you miss it ad on Wednesday declaring "BBC America HD - coming in 2008". With the changeover to digital and the high percentage of digital TVs being widescreen (many but not all of them high definition TVs), more and more cable networks are announcing HD versions of their stations. Torchwood is produced as an HD show, so it should look fine on BBC America HD (no idea how this affects HD Net getting the HD versions of Torchwood commercial free and with no content edits). Most of the shows on BBC America were made in either HD or a standard definition widescreen format (ex: Doctor Who).
